RIP - Andy Whitfield
UPDATED at 8:20 p.m.: The following is a statement from his wife, Vashti Whitfield: On a beautiful sunny sydney spring morning, surrounded by his family, in the arms of his loving wife, our beautiful young warrior Andy Whitfield lost his 18 month battle with lymphoma cancer. He passed peacefully surrounded by love. Thank you to all his fans whose love and support have help carry him to this point. He will be remembered as the inspiring, courageous and gentle man, father and husband he was.
I would be lying if I did not say that I was incredibly inspired to adopt a healthier lifestyle after seeing his preparation for the role, and passionate portrayal of such a profound historical figure. Andy Whitfield played Spartacus in the first season of the Starz show and I was legitimately blown away by the passion he channeled into portraying a gladiator so desperate to be with the only woman he would ever love. It was the most geniunine display of compassionate strength I have ever seen.
What was most inspiring though, was that you knew he that his strength did not end when he stopped portraying the most famous gladiator in history. Even in spite of his diagnosis he continued to fight to remain a part of the show. His relentless pursuit to continue to live his life on his own terms and not the circumstances of his illness will forever be inspiring to me. I highly recommend you check out the work of this talented and gifted man in Spartacus: Blood and Sand available on Netflix streaming right now.

I would have such high expectations of it though, and Bridget Regan is Kahlan to me 100% that anyone else playing Kahlan just wouldn’t work for me and the same with Tabrett=Cara and Craig=Richard. To be honest I’d rather season 3.
